Cowboy at the Cross Academy IS….
● A classical education program that is focused on emphasizing the value of virtue and reason in a
student's life more than simply academic studies. Students who have a strong moral character,
learn to communicate well, think analytically and rise to levels of influence in whatever they
pursue in life. Our focus is on training the mind, not simply preparing the student for employment.
Classical education produces well-informed and engaged community leaders and involved
citizens.
● A full-time school, where students are instructed in the classroom two days per week and
complete their work at home the other 2-3 days per week. Required courses must be completed
satisfactorily by the due date. We are focused more on the mastery of a subject, (within each
students’ capability), then we are on letter grades. However, grades are earned for the required
high school transcripts.
● A collaboration of parents and experienced educators, schooling their children using a
historical and biblically based curriculum. Each family is learning together as their students work
through the same subjects at their own learning level. All subjects are integrated, which means
they are studied in relationship with one another. History is the road map to which all other
subjects are connected together.
● Dependent on parental involvement. Although we have excellent teachers, they can not replace
the role of the parents at home. Your child’s success is greatly influenced by your help and
direction in following through with assignments during the home school learning days.
● A support system for parents in disciplining their families, not just educating them. We believe in
the family as the single most important unit of a stable society.
There is no more important unit than that of the family and no
more important teacher than a child’s parents. We are committed to
education that supports the parents’ irreplaceable role in their
children’s lives.
Cowboy at the Cross Academy IS NOT…
● …. a traditional 5 days-in-class school. Two or three days per week are spent learning the CCA provided assignments at home.
● … 100% responsible for student learning. Parents must help their student follow-through with assignments at home. It is expected that students will devote themselves to achieving excellence within their ability. Colossians 3:23
● …. a Home-school Co-op (as it was in 2021-2024).
